Simplifying a complex UX for summer school programs

Immerse Education is an award-winning provider of academic programs based in the United Kingdom. Founded in 2012, they offer exceptional educational experiences to ambitious students aged 11-18, with programs held in inspiring locations such as colleges of Cambridge University, all designed by expert tutors from leading universities. The company is officially referred to as ‘Immerse Education’ or ‘Immerse’.
Challenge
Immerse Education launched a website redesign to create a premium digital platform. Goals included optimizing visuals, ensuring intuitive navigation, differentiating online and residential programs, boosting conversion rates, and improving mobile responsiveness and SEO while maintaining search rankings.
Outcomes
We delivered a transformative digital experience for Immerse Education, crafting a premium, lighter, and cleaner UI/UX with intuitively differentiated program navigation. Our modular, cost-efficient design approach optimized pages for conversions across the full development lifecycle, including responsive HTML and CMS integration. This also involved establishing cohesive brand guidelines and significantly enhancing critical user journeys, from updated review sections to trust-building enrollment features.

Our objective was to craft a more aesthetically pleasing, premium, and industry-leading digital platform, emphasizing a lighter, brighter, cleaner, and more minimal aesthetic. This transformation was driven by a strategic and iterative design and development process, commencing with in-depth UX research and utilizing continuous UI refinements aimed at an "app-like" user experience to ensure a future-forward online presence.

The Challenge

Immerse Education embarked on a significant website redesign initiative with a clear vision: branding would not be just slapped on top, but it would rather conduct the design. Key challenges included optimizing their existing visual assets, achieving a lighter, brighter, cleaner, and more minimal aesthetic while maintaining brand alignment. A critical objective was to restructure the site for intuitive navigation, ensuring users could easily find information regardless of their age, subject interest, format, or location, and to clearly differentiate between online and residential programs. Furthermore, the project aimed to enhance conversion rates through pages with clearer business goals, guarantee full mobile responsiveness, and bolster SEO performance while preserving current search engine rankings.

The Solution

To overcome Immerse Education's website challenges, our solution focused on a strategic digital overhaul starting with in-depth UX research and a vision for a premium, lighter, and more intuitive UI/UX with an "app-like" aesthetic. We redesigned the site structure to ensure seamless navigation and clear differentiation of online versus residential programs through distinct visual cues. Efficiency was paramount, so we implemented a modular, template-based design using reusable blocks to reduce development costs, while concurrently optimizing pages with clear business objectives and strong Calls-to-Action to boost conversion rates. The project also included establishing comprehensive brand guidelines and elevating key user journeys.

Complex product variations

REcreate offers a diverse product line with numerous options and variations, each requiring a tailored presentation on the product page. For example, their chocolate products have different types, strengths (e.g., regular and strong), and package sizes (e.g., 3-piece, 10-piece). Similarly, their gummies have gender-specific options (for him, for her) that influence the available choices further down the line. To address this, we leveraged Prismic’s flexibility to create a dynamic and user friendly product page experience.
