Helping a US$3.8M-revenue tech brand with solid UX

Client/Partner
Being a US$3.8M-revenue tech brand, Aleo is a new layer-1 blockchain focused on privacy and scalability. Its goal is to provide a platform for developers to build truly private applications using zero-knowledge cryptography, aiming to bring the power of ZK under one roof.
Challenge
The project aimed to translate Aleo's technical vision and marketing goals into a solid, interactive, and visually consistent web UX across various online properties. This included enhancing the main website (aleo.org), developing the Aleo Studio landing page (aleo.studio), integrating and styling third-party career pages via Greenhouse, and building components like the ZPrize website's Leaderboard.
Outcomes
Successfully crafted solid web UX. Developed interactive Webflow UI. Implemented OS detection for Aleo Studio downloads. Ensured brand consistency and layout across core pages. Seamlessly integrated and styled Greenhouse career pages. Developed functional ZPrize Leaderboard with sorting and search.
Aleo is positioned as a new layer-1 blockchain focused on prioritizing privacy and scalability. Its goal is to provide a robust platform for developers to build truly private applications using zero-knowledge cryptography. Quo Agency collaborated with Aleo to enhance their web presence, which serves as a critical tool for achieving their marketing vision.

The Challenge

Aleo's innovative technology and its ambition to be the first layer-1 platform to bring the power of zero-knowledge (ZK) under one roof required a website that could effectively communicate these complex concepts, showcase their developer tools like Aleo Studio, highlight the growing ecosystem and community, and provide a seamless user experience for developers and users alike. The challenge was to translate Aleo's technical vision and marketing goals into a solid, interactive, and visually consistent web User Experience (UX) across various platforms and functionalities, including integrations with third-party services like Greenhouse.

The Solution

Quo Agency partnered with Aleo to address these challenges by crafting a solid web UX. This involved developing and refining interactive user interfaces primarily using Webflow, implementing custom functionalities, ensuring cross-platform compatibility, and maintaining brand consistency across multiple site sections and related properties like the ZPrize website. The work effectively realized Aleo's marketing vision for website modules by developing an interactive Webflow UI.

Key| bites, feats, pieces

Details on valuable parts of our work on the project.

Leaderboard table: sourced Json or API data and sorting capabilities

The ZPrize Leaderboard table was a significant component of the ZPrize sub-project (Aleo), built on Webflow. Its importance stemmed from its role in displaying data related to the ZPrize challenge potentially sourced from a JSON Endpoint or API. And a sorting capability was designed to allow users to organize the table data based on specific criteria, e.g. "POSITION", "DATE OF SUBMISSION", and "BENCHMARK SCORE".

Handles and autocomplete search bar

A leaderboard table was created keeping centric autocomplete suggestions for Github and Twitter handles, such as @johnwick.

Automated Git releases

Developed the website to automatically update the software download links for new versions by drawing information from a Github Releases page. This ensures users can always access the latest version easily. The implementation involved adding Webflow tabs for the different OS options and ensuring their styles were correctly applied.

Dynamic OS detection

Implemented functionality to detect the user's operating system (macOS, Windows, or Linux) and display the corresponding download link in the Hero section of the Aleo Studio landing page. A fallback was set to show the macOS link for other operating systems like ChromeOS or mobile platforms.

Wrap up

We partnered with Aleo, a significant blockchain brand, to successfully implement complex, custom web solutions across key sites such as Aleo.org, Aleo Studio, and the ZPrize Leaderboard. Our expertise was showcased in areas including OS detection, API integration (GitHub Releases), advanced data display with sorting and search autocomplete, meticulous UI/UX design execution and animation, and ensuring robust cross-browser and responsive compatibility while effectively troubleshooting technical challenges.
